On the 25th of August, one day after the Congress end, the Alumni will have the chance to meet São Paulo, there will be a City Tour around the city. The Alumni Congress Study Tour will happen after the Congress for 3 or 4 days, starting on the 26th of August.

Rio de Janeiro

A cosmopolitan metropolis, known worldwide for its beauty and its natural resources, the city provides a harmonious and agreeable environment for its inhabitants and visitors. Rio de Janeiro is ranked among the top destinations in the world in reception for cultural, commercial, technical and scientific events.

Very few cities in the world can offer visitors such an abundance of natural beauty as Rio de Janeiro. The splendor of its coastline and the green of its mountains and forests have been preserved, despite urban growth, and the combination of the blue sky and sea and the green of the forests is incomparable.

Rio is the birthplace of the samba, which has its greatest celebration in February, during Carnival. The parade of the principal Samba Schools is a unique and unforgettable spectacle. Apart from Carnaval, New Year is also a major event in Rio. It's celebrated with concerts and firework displays all around Rio, the largest one being in Copacabana beach. People wear white clothes, and some of them make offerings to Iemanjá, a deity in many of the Afro-Brazilian religions.

Foz do Iguaçú

The City of Foz do Iguaçu, with all its diversity of attractions, represents one of the most beautiful tourist destinies of the world. It possesses incomparable natural richness, as the Iguaçu National Park, declared as Natural Patrimony of the Humanity and where is located the Iguaçu Waterfalls.

Another icon impels the local tourism: Itaipu, the largest hydroelectric of the world. And, inside the Itaipu Tourist Complex, visitors can know the Ecomuseu, the Bela Vista Biological Refuge, and also see the Monumental Illumination of the Power Plant.

Besides the Waterfalls, the Iguaçu National Park offers interpretative trails and structure for practice of activities in a natural space, like: climbing, tree climbing, rafting and rappel. It is also possible to admire the area of the Waterfalls in helicopters flights. Near to the entrance of the Iguaçu National Park, is located the Bird Park, where the visitor comes across the most different species of birds in its natural habitats.

      

Salvador

Salvador is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Due to its very beauty and to a series of unique features, it has become a primary destination for international tourism. Famous for its history, for the legacy left by people from other continents, for the religious syncretism and for its hospitable people.

Carnaval:

This is the greatest source of joy for the people of Bahia. Only the party’s organization involves the direct participation of 25 thousand people. Its dimensions are gigantic. It gathers an average of 2 million people throughout 25 kilometers of streets, avenues and squares.

The most beautiful part of Salvador is the historical part called Pelourinho. Numerous historical buildings remind of the colonial past of the first brazilian capital.According to the Unesco the Pelourinho is the best and biggest accumulation of colonial architecture of the 17th and 18th century in America.
