Alumni Congress Agenda

60 Years of Activating Leadership - International Congress 2008

A space for collective intelligence on sustainable development

The Call

The International Congress 2008 brings together around 650 AIESEC members from over 106 countries and territories, and for the 60th anniversary celebrations we will gather approximately 300 AIESEC alumni from different generations, diverse AIESEC partners (corporate, government, NGO), as well as representatives of other youth organizations.

We will create an environment that enables real connection between these diverse individuals in order to

· Facilitate the exchange of ideas on leadership for a sustainable future

· Enable intergenerational learning

· Encourage connections between AIESEC alumni, members, partners and other youth organization to generate collective impact

· Honour the 60 years of AIESEC's activating youth leadership

· Enjoy each other's company

Purpose

With the event we aim to create a space for collective intelligence on sustainable development.

More concretely, we would like to connect AIESEC members and alumni to give them the chance to consider the collective impact they can also have.

Possible outcomes could be concrete projects/ventures of groups of alumni and/or AIESEC members – of course considering projects between alumni and AIESEC, as well as ventures alumni would like to embark on with fellow alumni.

Agenda

Design and delivery: The agenda is developed and delivered under the expert leadership of Toke Møller (co-founder of the Art of Hosting) and David Cooperrider (founder of the Appreciative Inquiry) in co-creative processes with members of the alumni body, AIESEC International, AIESEC in Brazil, as well as the Supervisory Group of AIESEC International.

FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE FACILITATORS OF THE AGENDA HERE.

Delivery: Toke, David and a team of highly qualified facilitators will lead all participants of the 60th anniversary event through a meaningful experience.

Elements: While much of the agenda is dedicated to engaging all individuals through cutting edge open space technologies, there will be other elements such as celebratory dinners, the Global AIESEC Awards (Alumni Hall of Fame, Entrepreneurship & Leadership Award, Contribution Award), and the Brazilian Night. This mixture promises an exciting and inspiring gathering of the global AIESEC network.

For all alumni and partners who wish to have time for informal conversations, there will be designated spaces for meetings throughout the day, and the entire event is based on the input all participants bring with them.

This is not for spectators ... please come ready to:

· Fully engage in a participative process as both a learner and contributor

· Keep striving to be on the edge of your own learning and challenge your own assumptions

· Enter into relationships that support co-learning and co-creation

· Take responsibility for the things you care about

· Stay all three days - this is the best forum to make connections that matter, and

Timings: Almost the entire agenda for alumni delegates is actually part of IC 2008, which gives alumni the unique opportunity to experience another International Congress!

Please note that the timings and speakers given are provisional. Final timings and a full speakers list will only be published a few weeks before the actual event.
